Nikol Pashinyan congratulates Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker on Europe Day

09.05.2019

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker on the occasion of Europe Day. The message reads:

“Honorable Mr. Tusk,
Honorable Mr Juncker,

I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of Europe Day, which marks the reinstatement of peace and security, friendship and unity of nations, economic and social well-being in Europe.

The birth of a united Europe in the wake of World War II evidenced that progressive, strong and peace-loving societies are based on the respect of the principles of human rights, fundamental freedoms and democracy.

European values were best manifested in our country exactly a year ago, when the people of Armenia made a decisive move on the way to building an institutional and comprehensive democratic system in our country.

We highly value the furtherance of EU-Armenia all-inclusive cooperation and the full enforcement of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which streamlines our cooperation.

I am convinced that the implementation of this landmark document, which fully complies with our shared values, as well as the large-scale reform agenda of our government will best promote Armenia’s democratic and socio-economic development.

Considering that the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership is being celebrated this year, I want to express my gratitude for the contribution that this format of cooperation has made to the prosperity and sustainable development of our country. I hope that the Eastern Partnership will boast ever new achievements and will continue along the path of sustainable development.”
