Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce newly appointed Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan to the ministry staff.

Noting that the diplomatic corps is one of the most developed systems in Armenia, the Prime Minister said it enjoys trust among the citizens. The Premier thanked former Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian for his tenure-long efforts: “In proposing Mr. Mnatsakanyan to the post of Foreign Minister I had the following motivation: to ensure the smoothness of political changes for the foreign ministry and the diplomatic corps. I believe that we should work hard ahead, since Armenia’s normal development depends on our position with regard to specific issues on our foreign policy agenda,” Nikol Pashinyan said, adding that at this point of time Armenia’s international rating is at a fairly high level, which offers us an excellent opportunity to translate it into foreign policy achievements. The Prime Minister emphasized that the diplomatic corps must be kept away from the impact of political changes, which is the right way to effective work.

Edward Nalbandian congratulated the newly appointed Foreign Minister and expressed confidence that Armenia’s highly professional diplomatic corps may boast new achievements under his leadership.

Thankful for trust and confidence, newly appointed Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said that under Edward Nalbandian’s management, the diplomatic corps was able to increase its professional capacity and potential over the past few years. “I realize that we are facing serious challenges, but I feel confident and strong with the existing diplomatic team. Based on that huge potential, I am confident that together we will continue to promote and advance Armenia’s agenda,” Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said.
