Progress in loan-supported agricultural programs discussed in Government

07.04.2020

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a consultative meeting was held to discuss progress in loan-supported agricultural programs. The Prime Minister was informed about the process of implementing the Management and Competitiveness of Agricultural Resources in Communities and the Price Chains Development programs, which started as early as in in 2019.

Under the first program, 612 units of agricultural machinery were provided to cooperative farms, new pastures endowed with drinking water were created, and 42km-long water-mains were laid last year. 190 units of agricultural machinery and 41km-long water-mains will be installed this year. The program is expected to save money, which will be used for other such projects.

Under the second program, agricultural entities are offered grants to build new livestock service centers in several communities. The responsible officials advised that construction-related tenders and procurement processes have been announced, and the programs will be completed in a timely manner.

Highlighting the efficiency of loan-supported programs, Prime Minister Pashinyan said the Government shall be consistent in its efforts to improve infrastructure and create new cooperatives in the field of agriculture.
