PM Pashinyan receives ADB Vice President

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Shixin Chen.

The Prime Minister noted that the Asian Development Bank is an important partner for the Armenian Government, with which large-scale programs are being implemented. Nikol Pashinyan thanked the ADB Vice President for the support to the Armenian Government during the coronavirus pandemic and expressed hope that in the near future they will be able to focus on the economic development agenda. According to the Prime Minister, ADB has a key involvement in a number of important programs being implemented in Armenia; he sees good opportunities to continue further cooperation. Nikol Pashinyan also attached importance to the support provided to the Government’s reform agenda and the active cooperation between the ADB and the private sector of our country.

At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan added that the goal of the Government is to implement the construction of the North-South highway as quickly and efficiently as possible, noting that in the current situation its importance is increasing.

In turn, Shixin Chen thanked the Armenian Government for the close cooperation, emphasizing the fact of continuous implementation of effective programs with the Armenian side. According to the ADB Vice President, they are ready to give a new impetus to the projects implemented in Armenia, to expand the directions of cooperation. At the same time, the he stressed ADB's readiness to provide further assistance to the implementation of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the progress of joint projects, the construction of the North-South highway, as well as issues related to further cooperation.
