Nikol Pashinyan extends condolences on demise of Louise Manoogian Simone

20.02.2019

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence cable to the family of Louise Manoogian Simone. The message reads, in part: “I was deeply grieved to learn about the passing of Armenian philanthropist, famous national figure Louise Manoogian Simone. Her demise is a great loss for our people to whom she served devotedly and with great sense of responsibility.

Invaluable is Louise Simone’s contribution to the preservation of the Armenian identity, the development of independent Armenia and the strengthening of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Far away from the Homeland, she was closely associated with Armenia, showing a cordial and caring attitude towards her compatriots as a vivid example and an incentive for many benefactors.

Having assumed the high post of AGBU President in a crucial for Armenia period, she spared no effort to overcome the consequences of the Spitak earthquake and the Artsakh war. Thanks to her, many educational, cultural, national and charity projects were implemented in Armenia and in the Armenian communities of the Diaspora.

Louise Manoogian Simone left an indelible mark on the modern history of the Armenian people and Armenia with her patriotic and fruitful activities.

I express my deepest condolences and sympathy to Louise Simone’s relatives and friends, as well as to the nation on this heavy loss.”
