PM Pashinyan chairs the discussion of draft culture strategy

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a consultation, during which the draft of the Strategy for the Preservation, Development and Popularization of Culture for 2023-2027 was discussed.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan presented the goals of the strategy. In particular, the goals of the document include modernization of cultural and creative spheres, accessibility and inclusiveness of culture, positioning of Armenia as a country that carries and creates world cultural values. The draft also presents the main targets that the Government will strive to achieve within the specified period.

One of the priorities defined by the draft strategy is the inventory and institutionalization of cultural heritage, which provides for, in particular, restoration of monuments, creation and management of reserve museums, and creation of cadastre of monuments. The importance of modernizing management models in the cultural and creative sectors was also emphasized, including the introduction of an electronic ticketing system in museums.

An earnest exchange of ideas took place around the project, a number of questions, observations and recommendations were presented.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of effective management and development of the sector and noted that it is one of the target directions of the Armenian government. Summarizing the consultation, Nikol Pashinyan instructed to include the presented recommendations and observations on the solution of the existing issues in the strategy.
