A meeting took place in Brussels between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

President Metsola welcomed the Armenian Prime Minister’s visit to the European Parliament and highlighted the active bilateral dialogue, which contributes to the consistent development of relations between Armenia and the European Union.

Roberta Metsola noted that the European Parliament will continue its close cooperation with Armenia to effectively advance the bilateral agenda.

Prime Minister Pashinyan added that the extensive bilateral agenda and the series of high-level events held recently serve as evidence of the strength of these relations. According to Nikol Pashinyan, the European Parliament is a proponent of the Armenia-EU partnership and closer ties, and the Government of Armenia highly values its ongoing support. At the same time, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the European Parliament’s position regarding the granting of trade preferences to Armenia for a two-year period.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the agenda of Armenia-EU relations. They also touched upon regional developments and steps aimed at ensuring transport connectivity.

Subsequently, a gift exchange ceremony took place, during which the Prime Minister of Armenia presented the President of the European Parliament with a scale model of the "Armatagir – The Power of Dialogue" memorial sculpture—a piece dedicated to the Armenian alphabet and gifted to the European Parliament. Following this, Roberta Metsola presented Nikol Pashinyan with a bronze commemorative medal of the European Parliament.
