Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence cable to President Hassan Rouhani of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the flood that caused dozens of casualties. The Prime Minister stated, in part:

“I was deeply shocked by the news of a severe flooding in friendly Iran which claimed the lives of dozens of people.

On behalf of the Armenian people and on my own behalf, I express sincere condolences to you and the friendly people of Iran. Please convey words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims.

At this difficult moment, Armenia is ready to support the friendly people of Iran and provide the necessary assistance to overcome the consequences of the disaster.”
