I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of renowned Academician David Sedrakyan.

The internationally recognized astrophysicist was also known for his proactive public activities and principled civic stance.

In his capacity of long-time Academician-Secretary, later Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and Head of the General Physics Department at Yerevan State University, he made a valuable contribution and played an important role in the development of science in Armenia.

I express my deepest condolences to David Sedrakyan’s family, relatives and friends.
