I was deeply grieved to learn about the untimely demise of photographer, documentary filmmaker and journalist German Avagyan.

Throughout his professional career, German Avagyan addressed and thereby raised awareness of the problems available in the spheres of mining, mental health, disability and poverty by means of photographs.

His professional qualities were reflected in numerous exhibitions held at prestigious international organizations, including the UN, UNESCO, as well as in several countries of the world.

I express sincere condolences to German Avagyan’s family, relatives and friends.
