Armenian theater art has suffered an irreparable loss: the renowned master of theater and cinema, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Guzh Manukyan, has passed away.

He shaped the image of an actor for whom art was a way of life. His roles were always distinguished by deep thoughtfulness, the accuracy of revealing the spiritual world of the character to the end.

Guzh Manukyan saw a natural, indissoluble connection between theater and cinema and was able to maintain the integrity of his thinking and artistic dignity in both worlds.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and personally myself, I express my deepest condolences to the family, relatives, and thousands of admirers of Guzh Manukyan's art. The characters he created in theater and cinema will continue to live on our screens and in our memory as a testament to high-quality art and dedication.
