Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence telegram to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the death of Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

"I was deeply saddened to learn about the death of Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, father of the State of Qatar.

His Highness' significant role and contribution to Qatar's development, welfare and strengthening its international reputation, as well as promoting regional and international dialogue and cooperation, will forever remain in the pages of history.

The Republic of Armenia highly appreciates the late Emir's great contribution to the strengthening and development of friendly relations between Armenia and Qatar, as evidenced by the Order of "Friendship" awarded to the father Emir by the Republic of Armenia.

At this difficult moment, on behalf of the Government of Armenia and myself, I express my deepest condolences to Your Highness, the leadership and friendly people of Qatar, the relatives and friends of the late Emir, wishing strength and endurance in this difficult moment of loss," the message states.
