Italian Prime Minister congratulates PM Pashinyan on election victory
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory in Armenia. The message reads:
“I would like to extend to you the warmest congratulations of the Government of the Italian Republic and myself on your re-election as the leader of the Republic of Armenia. The vote of the Armenian people, for the third time, values your leadership and recognizes the courage with which you have faced challenges of exceptional complexity.
Italy follows the process of strengthening Armenia’s relations with Europe and firmly supports the process of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan. The agreement reached in Washington in 2025 is an important achievement, and you can continue to count on our commitment to support further steps towards the establishment of final peace, recognizing that the normalization of relations is an important opportunity for stability and prosperity not only for Armenia, but also for the entire region.
The relations between our countries are strong and continuously developing. We are united by vibrant economic ties, long-standing cultural and archaeological cooperation, as well as tangible prospects for cooperation in areas such as infrastructure and defense. I am confident that your renewed mandate will provide an opportunity to further strengthen this partnership.”
