Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Aragatsotn and Shirak regions to get acquainted with the construction, renovation and overhaul of school buildings and healthcare facilities.
The Prime Minister’s first stop was at the Sasunik secondary school, where he was presented with the works implemented and the conditions created in the newly built school. The total cost of the program is about 2 billion 157 million drams. As a result, the Sasunik settlement has a new school with a capacity of 432 students. The school is included in the list of the RA Government’s “300 Schools to be Built, Renovated or Reconstructed by 2026” program. The works were carried out in 2023-2025.
Nikol Pashinyan congratulated everyone on the opening of the wonderful school and happily noted that children continue their studies at this school. “In general, the more comprehensively we understand the problems of our country, the more we become convinced that the solutions to all our problems lie in education and in the field of education,” the Prime Minister said and emphasized that school construction is an educational process, and a huge amount of work has been done in this regard. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the quality of the work being carried out, compliance with standards, as well as the importance of further school management. The Prime Minister noted that everything is decided in schools, the future life of each child, and recalled the message: study well, so that to live well.
Next, the Prime Minister visited the newly built polyclinic of the Ashtarak Medical Center, where he got acquainted with the work carried out. The total cost of the project is about 761 million drams. As a result of the implementation of the project, a new building of the polyclinic and morgue was built in the region. The works were carried out in 2022-2025.
Within the framework of the working visit, Nikol Pashinyan was present at the opening of the Talin Medical Center and got acquainted with the created conditions. It was noted that the total cost of the project is about 1 billion 475 million drams. As a result of the implementation of the project, the Talin community has a reconstructed medical center. The works were carried out in 2021-2025.
During his visit to the Lusakn secondary school in Aragatsotn province, the Prime Minister toured the educational institution, where he also got acquainted with the construction works carried out. The total cost of the project is about 766 million drams. As a result of the implementation of the “Construction of modular schools for a small number of schoolchildren in 22 communities” program, a new secondary school was built. The works were carried out in 2020-2025.
In his speech, the Prime Minister noted that for the first time in its history, the village of Lusakn has a school with its own laboratory and equipment, which means that equal access to education is ensured. The Prime Minister emphasized that this school, the school of Real Armenian, the school of the Fourth Republic, should not set a maximum development bar for children, but, on the contrary, eliminate the maximum threshold for children's development.
According to the Prime Minister, at school there is an opportunity to learn, create, play, make friends, think about life, and communicate. “School is the center of life, the school is the axis of the life of a village, community, and settlement and it should become such,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
Prime Minister Pashinyan congratulated those present on this wonderful occasion and expressed confidence that there will be many more meetings and discussions in that hall, and all of those discussions will be about life, living, and learning. Summing up his speech, the Prime Minister noted: “We welcome you with the slogan “Study well so that you live well,” because know that your good life does not depend on anyone else, it depends only on you, it depends on what you are doing today, and today you have all the conditions to do the very thing, for which I congratulate you.”
Within the framework of the school construction program, the Azatan secondary school was also built, where Nikol Pashinyan was presented with the created building conditions and infrastructure. The total cost of the program is about 1 billion 691 million drams. The works were carried out in 2022-2025. Renovation works were also carried out at the Azatan secondary school. The total cost of the program is about 165 million drams. The works were carried out in August-September 2025. As a result of the implementation of the programs, the Azatan settlement has a new school for 576 students. The construction and renovation works of the school are included in the list of schools of the RA Government's "300 Schools to be Built, Renovated or Reconstructed by 2026" program.
In his speech at the Azatan secondary school, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all citizens who work, create results and pay taxes prescribed by law. "It is precisely because of the result they created, precisely because of the value they created, that we have the opportunity to implement the "300 schools, 500 kindergartens" program in Armenia. I also want to thank all our citizens who did not forget to take the cash register receipt when making their daily purchases," said Nikol Pashinyan and added: "Taking a cash register receipt means fighting the shadow economy, it means more taxes coming to the state budget, and all this is the result of the cash register receipt."
Speaking about the importance of education, the Prime Minister once again emphasized: “Yes, we used to say that the strategy of the education sector is a priority for us, now we say that education is a strategy for us, that is, education itself is a strategy and not just a strategy for the education sector, education is our strategy in the construction sector, education is our strategy in the transport sector, education is our strategy in the security sector, education is our strategy in the law and order sector, in the justice sector, in the industry sector, in the small and medium-sized business sector, in the domestic violence sector, in the agriculture sector. Today, the solution to the problems we have in the agriculture sector is education, only education, exclusively education, there is simply no other solution, simply no other solution exists.”
Primary school No. 28 in Gyumri is also among the renovated schools, where the total cost of the works carried out is about 192 million drams. The Prime Minister was informed that as a result of the implementation of the program, the Gyumri community will have a renovated school for 435 students. The school's renovation is included in the list of schools of the RA Government's "300 Schools to be Built, Renovated or Reconstructed by 2026" program.
In Shirak region, Nikol Pashinyan also visited Akhuryan Primary School No. 2, where renovation works were carried out. The Prime Minister toured the school and got acquainted with the renovation works. The total cost of the project is about 186 million drams. As a result of the implementation of the project, the Akhuryan community has a renovated school for 362 students. The renovation of the school is included in the list of schools of the RA Government’s “300 Schools to be Built, Renovated or Reconstructed by 2026” program. The works were carried out in 2024-2025.
Prime Minister Pashinyan’s last stop was at Gyumri Primary School No. 38, where the Prime Minister was presented with the renovation works carried out at the educational institution and the conditions created. The total cost of the project is about 228 million drams. As a result of the implementation of the project, the Gyumri community will have a renovated school for 235 students. The renovation work is included in the list of schools of the RA Government's "300 Schools to be Built, Renovated or Reconstructed by 2026" program. The work was carried out in 2024-2025.
