Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Vedi community of Ararat region to get acquainted with the programs being implemented and met with residents.
Within the framework of the regional visit, the Prime Minister first visited the newly built Vedi reservoir. The total cost of the project was 90 million euros. Those responsible noted that the total volume of the reservoir is 29 million m3. As a result of the implementation of the project, uninterrupted and reliable irrigation of about 3,220 hectares of land in 11 settlements of the Ararat Valley will be ensured, a transition from mechanical irrigation to gravity irrigation will be made, as a result, about 19.0 million kWh of electricity will be saved annually. At the same time, irrigation network losses will be reduced by 20-25%, and the construction of an on-farm irrigation network in pilot areas will make it possible to use new technologies (drip irrigation). The project was implemented with funding from the Government and the French Development Agency.
Next, the Water Committee officials presented the work being carried out to build other reservoirs in the republic.
Next, in the Dashtakar settlement, the Prime Minister met with local residents, touched upon the introduction of modern technologies in the agricultural sector, and the Government's programs. The residents raised the issue of the school building in the settlement being in a state of emergency, in connection with which the Prime Minister noted that the issue of construction and major renovation of schools is in the focus of the Government's attention and in this case, too, the problem will be solved.
Nikol Pashinyan's next stop was in Goravan, where he was presented with the construction process of the settlement's preschool institution. The total cost of the subsidy program is 291 million drams, 80% of which, or about 232 million 960 thousand drams, was allocated from the state budget. It is planned to build a kindergarten building with an area of 1105 square meters on an area of 2500 square meters with a capacity of 90 places.
Then the Prime Minister talked with residents, got acquainted with the existing problems and touched upon the steps taken to solve them.
