Furtherance of Armenian-Chinese cooperation discussed

 Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received PRC Ambassador to Armenia Tian Erlong.

Highlighting the need for continued development of cooperation between Armenia and China, the Prime Minister stressed that his government has great expectations in this respect. Nikol Pashinyan thanked the Chinese side for financial and technical assistance provided to our country and expressed the hope that it would be continued ahead.

For his part, Tian Erlong said China is ready to expand, deepen and boost multifaceted political and economic ties of mutually beneficial cooperation with Armenia. Noting that integration processes in the Eurasian region offer good opportunities for promoting economic exchanges, the Ambassador stressed the need for continued efforts which should encompass the One Belt, One Road initiative.

The Ambassador advised that 41% growth in trade turnover has been registered this year, and considered it prospective to strengthen ties in industry, agriculture, infrastructure development, tourism, information technology and other spheres. Tian Erlong stressed that the construction of a Chinese school is successfully underway in Yerevan, adding that our country will receive around 200 new ambulance vehicles by this fall.

A number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
