PM receives leaders and representatives of Eastern Apostolic Churches of Australia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation of leaders and representatives of the Eastern Apostolic Churches of Australia, headed by Archbishop Robert Rabbat.

Welcoming the clergy’s visit to Armenia, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that it would contribute to the strengthening and rapprochement of ties with the Armenian Apostolic Church. Nikol Pashinyan attached importance to consolidation and expansion of cooperation between Christian peoples for the sake of peace and stability.

Archbishop Robert Rabbat highlighted the strong ties between the Armenian community of Australia and the Church, noting that Church-to-Church close relationships are important in terms of preventing violence and genocides in the world. He said he was happy about the peaceful completion of political developments in Armenia and wished the new government every success in all its undertakings.

During the meeting, the Premier answered several questions of interest to the delegation, which bore on the Armenian government’s priorities: anticorruption campaign, economic development, democracy, etc.
