PM, Swedish Ambassador discuss ways of developing Armenian-Swedish relations

Today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Martina Quick, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Armenia.

Noting that the Armenian government is keen to build multifaceted relationships between Armenia and Sweden, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the Ambassador’s active efforts in terms of concrete results. Nikol Pashinyan stressed the need for increased trade turnover, adding that his government is set to attract foreign investments and expand business ties with foreign countries. The Prime Minister underscored that Armenia’s new authorities have developed ambitious programs and went on to note that their implementation is seen as a gratifying commitment.

The Ambassador assured of her willingness to make every effort with a view to reinvigorating the bilateral cooperation. Martina Quick noted that Sweden is open for close cooperation with the Government of Armenia in terms of strengthening democracy, fighting corruption, protecting human rights, promoting economic development, etc.

Taking the opportunity, the parties touched upon the further development of Armenia-European Union relations. Nikol Pashinyan appreciated the Eastern Partnership (EaP) and the successful completion of those programs envisaged under the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
