23.08.2018

On August 22, 2018, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation representing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Central Committee of Lebanon. Headed by Central Committee Chairman, Lebanese MP Hagop Pakradouni, the delegation comprised Lebanon’s Tourism Minister Avedis Gidanian and Central Committee member Raffi Ashkarian.

The sides discussed the results of the Armenian Velvet Revolution and the people’s expectations to that end, including the imperative to promote the positive atmosphere in the Diaspora, especially as regards the Armenian community of Lebanon.

Welcoming the delegation to the Government’s headquarters and highlighting the meeting’s importance, the Prime Minister noted that the Lebanese Armenians and youth stand out by their highly valuable support provided to the Revolution. The Premier stressed the need for sustained dialogue and consolidation of political forces for the sake of our revolution.

The Lebanon Central Committee members conveyed the ARF’s willingness and readiness to build on the Revolution’s achievements and help Nikol Pashinyan and his government materialize the development vision of our country. They underscored that the nation’s unity and spirit of cooperation should be maintained to counter any dubious effort aimed at undermining the final success of the Velvet Revolution.

The ARF delegation also conveyed the Lebanese Armenians’ willingness and firm determination to advance the efforts toward strengthening Artsakh and Armenia, as well as to contribute to the deepening and expansion of Armenian-Lebanese ties in different spheres of activity.
