A Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Before discussing the agenda, the Prime Minister advised that Gabriel Ghazaryan, who is currently holding the post of deputy minister, will be appointed to the post of the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs.
“I would like to welcome the newly appointed Ministers – the Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan, the Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan and the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Garegin Baghramyan.
Gentlemen, I wish you every success. I want to tell you that I have made a decision to appoint Gabriel Ghazaryan Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs. I have submitted a relevant petition to the President of the Republic of Armenia,” Nikol Pashinyan said, noting that other appointments will come in the nearest future
In an effort to effectively organize and streamline the transport traffic in Yerevan during the 17th Summit of La Francophonie in Yerevan, the Government decided that the working days of October 11 and 12 shall be substituted with the Saturdays of October 27 and November 3, respectively.
Chief of Police Valery Osipyan provided information on which streets in the capital will be closed for traffic during the Summit. The Prime Minister apologized for the trouble caused to the citizens and urged them to travel by car less frequently on those days and to use the subway. Addressing Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan, the Head of Government told him to issue specific instructions to that effect.
“It has been repeatedly stated that the Summit is of particular importance as it is an unprecedented event in the Third Republic’s history. We need to hold this event at the highest possible level,” the Premier said. Nikol Pashinyan expressed conviction that our compatriots will welcome and, if necessary, assist the guests from different countries of the world.
The Prime Minister instructed the heads of respective agencies to take all necessary steps to ensure proper level of security in the capital. He said that the Republic of Armenia is fully prepared for the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
The meeting approved the government’s legislative on a set of amendments to the laws On Subsoil, On State Registration of Legal Entities, Legal Entities’ Standalone Divisions, Institutions and Private Entrepreneurs, as well as to the law On Public Service.
The Government appointed Gnel Sanosyan to the post of Gegharkunik Marz Governor, Trdat Sargsyan – Vayots-Dzor Marz Governor, and Andrey Ghukasyan - Lori Marz Governor.
The meeting decided that snap elections of heads of community shall be held in the following communities: Nor Geghi (Kotayk Marz), Akunq (Gegharkunik Marz), Arevabuyr (Ararat Marz) and Malishka (Vayots Dzor Marz).
The Executive approved a proposal to sign the protocol on exchange of information between CIS-member States in the field of tax administration. The protocol provides that the tax authorities of CIS-member States shall exchange information on separate types of legal and physical persons’ income, as well as information on the assets and the owners of property registered in the territory of Member States.
