Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Mrs. Anna Hakobyan were present at the handover ceremony of 200 ambulance vehicles, delivered to the Republic of Armenia by the People’s Republic of China. Acting RA Healthcare Minister Arsen Torosyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan, PRC Ambassador to Armenia Tian Erlong and others were in attendance.

The Chinese Ambassador advised that the 200-strong emergency aid scheme is one of his country’s largest international assistance programs. The Ambassador informed that a group of specialists have arrived in Armenia to introduce to Armenian stakeholders the vehicles and their equipment. As a result, about 350 doctors, nurses and drivers have undergone vocational training.

“Despite the fact that we are far from each other, our friendship has a history of several millennia. China seeks no profit in backing Armenia. I am confident that China and Armenia will continue to cooperate in different spheres, and the two nations will enjoy continued and everlasting ties,” the Ambassador said.

65 out of said 200 vehicles are reanimobiles, 135 are linear ambulance cars. Arsen Torosyan noted that the vehicles are furnished with state-of-the-art equipment that will make it easier for medical staff to provide high-quality and efficient services.

“Vehicle availability will make it possible to provide emergency assistance on the spot to even seriously ill patients, which is sure to reduce the rate of mortality,” the Acting Minister said, noting that the Government has decided to make a nationwide distribution of the cars.

49 vehicles were provided to Yerevan Ambulance Company, 10 vehicles - to medical centers in Yerevan, and 131 - to regional centers. Nikol Pashinyan was briefed in detail on the possibilities and capabilities of emergency vehicles.
