PM refers to gas price increase at gas stations and instructs those responsible to deal with the issue as quickly as possible

A Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Prior to the discussion of the agenda, the Prime Minister summed up the Government’s yearlong activities and outlined the plans for the future. Nikol Pashinyan referred to the recent gas price increase at refilling stations. The heads of relevant government departments presented the main reasons for the rise in prices.

The Head of Government instructed the State Revenue Committee, the Market Control Inspection Authority and the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition to quickly address the problems associated with the transition from cubic meters to kilograms.

The Government amended one of its previous decisions, establishing a procedure for providing free financial assistance in the form of housing certificates to acting military staff and those servicemen exempted from army service because of age or health condition.

The Government approved a concept note and an action plan for creating a single register and an automatic information system of addresses in the Republic of Armenia. In particular, thanks to the unified register and the automatic information system of the register of addresses and its connection to the government interaction platform, the information included in the address register will be updated online, and any changes in addresses will be immediately reflected in the system and will be available to users.

The Government will allocate funds from the reserve fund to ensure the holding of the World Championship in Sport Dancing among participants under the age of 21, which will be held this May 17-18 in Yerevan. Pre-registered 21-year-old athletes and athletes from Yerevan and the regions, as well as athletes invited from abroad can take part in the competition. More than 1,000 athletes from 30 countries will attend the competition.

The Government approved the presidential decree “On approval of the Agreement on Abolition of Visa Regime for Persons with Diplomatic and Official Passports between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Chile,” which was signed on April 27, 2018 in Yerevan.

The Government next approved the proposal to sign the Agreement on Traceability Mechanism for Goods Imported into EAEU customs territory. According to the rationale, the main purpose of the agreement is to prevent the use of various schemes for evading customs payments and taxes, to confirm the legality of goods throughout their cross-border movement between the EAEU countries and ensure proper control over trans-boundary commodity turnover.
