PM holds farewell meeting with outgoing German Ambassador Matthias Kiesler

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia Matthias Kiesler, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.

The Premier thanked the Ambassador for effective work and assistance in the development of Armenian-German relations. Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the Ambassador’s vigorous efforts last year resulted in several reciprocated top-level visits between the two countries, which helped boost cooperation in different fields of activity. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the ongoing cooperation with the German government in promoting reforms, including the formation of a European standards-compliant independent judicial system in our country.

Matthias Kisler thanked the Premier for effective cooperation, noting that it was a great responsibility for him to carry on his diplomatic mission against a background of profound political transformations. The Ambassador stressed that the traditionally good relations with Armenia have been imparted a fresh impetus thanks to the process of democratic reforms in the country.

Mattias Kisler stressed that the German government is prepared to work more closely with Armenian partners in all priority areas, including the judiciary reform. The Ambassador advised that the German business circles are keen to invest in telecommunications and high technologies.

During the meeting, the parties took the opportunity to refer to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
