A Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

To begin with, Nikol Pashinyan referred to the findings of the international expertise of the Amoulsar project. Clarifications were provided on the matter at hand.

Proceeding to the agenda, the meeting amended Government Decision No. 1085-N of 2 October, 2014 with a view to raising the amount of monthly payments to active servicemen.

The Government adopted a decision on the procedure to follow in providing indemnities to those affected by the events of March 1-2, 2008 in Yerevan.

According to another decision, AMD 14,813.2 thousand shall be made available to the Republican Sports Federation of Schoolchildren for organizing the first world championship of chess schools, due this September 18 to 25 in Tsakhkadzor.

The Cabinet next passed a decision to improve the process of diagnosis and treatment of infertile couples by supporting the provision of reproductive technologies.

The project has been redesigned and supplemented with a new beneficiary registration procedure, which defines the scope of State-funded examinations and treatment, including the use of assistive reproductive technologies, as well as the State-guaranteed free conditions for infertility treatment. Beneficiaries will be allowed to get registered according to applications under a unified procedure mediating a centralized electronic healthcare system by the organization to which the beneficiary has applied.

Today, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanian attended the government sitting for the first time. Greeting him, the Prime Minister noted: “This is a new status in our government and in the country, in general. I have said several times that we have set specific objectives concerning these changes, and the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs is supposed to play a key role in our programs. Mr. Sinanian, you are welcome and we wish you every success in your efforts.”
