Government continues discussing state agencies’ budget allocation bids for 2020

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Government continues discussing public agencies’ budget allocation requests for 2020. Today the application of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was discussed in the Government.

The activities to be carried out in each individual sector in 2020 were discussed in the context of ministries’ priorities, primary tasks and actions, as well as with regard to the proposed structural reforms. The meeting specifically focused on those activities related to the oversight of activities of enterprises producing hazardous matters, disaster risk management, equipment and technical safety standards. Issues related to the efficiency of the Ministry‘s individual units, and the activities of state non-commercial organizations were discussed during the meeting.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the budget allocations to agencies should be targeted, and spending should be justified as much as possible. In this context, the Head of Government issued a number of instructions. He told those responsible to be consistent in ensuring the effective implementation of structural reforms.
