Healthcare Ministry’s 2020 budget request discussed in Government

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Government today discussed Healthcare Ministry‘s budget request for FY 2020. The meeting focused on the activities to be carried out in line with the Ministry’s priorities and primary tasks, as well as in pursuit of the reforms envisaged for 2020.

The meeting discussed ways of improving the demographic situation and the provision of medicines, as well as on targeted state-supported programs in the field of healthcare. Building the capacity of primary healthcare centers, vaccination, streamlining the drug market and introducing e-health facilities were discussed in this context.

Within the framework of state-supported programs, issues related to the Stent for Life emergency stenting project, the treatment of ischemic stroke, medical care for children aged 0 to 18 years, as well as the possibility of expanding the scope of beneficiaries were discussed during the meeting.

Highlighting the aforementioned programs, the Prime Minister gave instructions in connection with the monitoring of targeted state-sponsored programs. He stressed the need to increase the effectiveness of primary healthcare institutions, implementing structural reforms, etc.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle and raising public awareness of programs in this area in general, and told those responsible to consider these issues from the perspective of the Government’s strategic goals.
