Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a meeting to discuss ways of addressing pandemic-caused socio-economic problems.

The Premier stressed that the Government should be quick-responsive in processing investment bids. “We need to ensure that especially in the post-crisis period investment proposals are considered at the appropriate speed and level. The task is as follows: the speed and quality of our response to investment bids should be drastically changed, and this is a vital issue for us,” Nikol Pashinyan stressed.

A number of proposals and recommendations on supporting and developing individual economic sectors were voiced during the exchange of views that followed. Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Araik Harutyunyan came up with a proposal to enable broader access to distance learning through better organization of the educational process in the framework of state support to provide children from low-income families with Internet access and tablets. The idea was approved.

Prime Minister Pashinyan considered it important in the strategic plan to provide schoolchildren with all necessary supplies, which is also important in terms of compensating the lack of teaching staff in local communities. The Head of Government instructed the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the Minister of High-Tech Industry to develop and finalize the toolkit provided for in the proposal and report the findings back to Government.
