Progress in socioeconomic support programs and ways of boosting the economy discussed in Government

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, another consultation was held in the Office of Government to discuss the anti-crisis policy aimed at curbing the coronavirus-driven pandemic’s economic impact.

Prime Minister Pashinyan was first informed about the results of 13 approved activities. Central Bank Chairman Artur Javadyan presented the results of the 1st and 2nd programs. 224 loans have already been approved under the first program to a total cost of 10,226 million drams. 1035 loan applications have been approved as part of the second activity, of which 856 micro loans provided to the agricultural sector. The cumulative amount of the loans is 2,830 million drams.

Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan reported progress in the 3rd activity: 167 loan applications worth 1.6 billion drams have been approved at this point of time.

SRC Chairman David Ananyan reported that 7639 beneficiaries have already received 1,227.4 million drams under the 5th program.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan noted that the 4th, 6th and 7th activities are being successfully implemented, and the bulk of support has reached out the beneficiaries. As part of the eighth program, assistance has been provided to 55,800 beneficiaries, and new applications keep coming in from citizens. The 9th activity and the application process are underway; the scope of eligible citizens is being identified and the lists of beneficiaries finalized at this point of time. Upon completion of this process, the beneficiaries will start receiving the proposed assistance. The meeting next reviewed the implementation of the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th activities.

In conclusion, reference was made to public-private sector partnership-fostered infrastructure programs aimed at upholding the economic growth dynamics.
