“There are good prerequisites for developing Armenia-Kazakhstan economic interaction” - PM holds farewell meeting with Ambassador Urazayev

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia Timur Urazayev, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.

The Prime Minister thanked Mr. Urazayev for his effective efforts aimed at expanding Armenia-Kazakhstan relations. Stressing the importance of continued development of Armenian-Kazakhstani relations, Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the fact of close interaction between the two states in multilateral formats, including the EAEU, CSTO and CIS. The Premier pointed out that Armenia and Kazakhstan boast great potential for economic cooperation, which should be tapped through vigorous activities of the intergovernmental commission and closer ties between the respective private sectors.

Ambassador Urazayev thanked Nikol Pashinyan and his government for close cooperation and assured that he would continue to make every effort to promote Armenian-Kazakh friendly relations in his future activities. The outgoing ambassador noted that the bilateral relations have been expanding in all areas over the past 5 years. With reference to economic exchanges, Mr. Urazayev emphasized that the bilateral trade turnover increased by 50% in 2020 despite the coronavirus pandemic, which is a good prerequisite for ensuring consistent growth in economic exchanges.

The interlocutors referred to the prospects for economic cooperation, the priorities of Kazakhstan’s EAEU presidency, as well as to other issues of regional importance.
