Government continues discussing macroeconomic, fiscal framework for 2022

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Government continues discussing the macroeconomic and fiscal framework for 2022, and the 2022-2024 Medium-Term Expenditure Program (MTEP).

Today’s meeting discussed the budget bids submitted by state agencies under the estimated framework. Reference was made to budget allocation quotas, per-sector priorities, expenditures, economic growth, investments, recurrent and capital expenditure forecasts.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the economic course in 2022 and in the next few years will depend on the quality and performance of tax administration, cost-effectiveness, economic development and financial stability. According to Nikol Pashinyan, there is significant potential for providing the above components, and consistent efforts will have to be made in this direction.

The Premier instructed the heads of the agencies concerned to formulate and submit concrete proposals on the aforementioned issues.
