Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed Minister Hakob Simidyan to the staff of the Ministry of Environment.

The Prime Minister thanked former Minister Romanos Petrosyan for his work in that position, and congratulated, wished success to Hakob Simidyan.

“Mr. Petrosyan will assume a new position. You know, he has already been appointed head of the State Control Service. This is the first time Mr. Simidyan is being appointed as Cabinet member, I want to wish him success in this important and responsible position. Today, the field of environment is of strategic importance not only for Armenia, but also in the global sense. Of course, here the Republic of Armenia must act as a responsible member of the international community, and our national policy must be based on this logic and on our national state interests”, Nikol Pashinyan said.

Romanos Petrosyan thanked the staff of the ministry for the joint work and congratulated Hakob Simidyan. “During the cooperation of about a year and a half, we initiated quite a lot of reforms with this team, and this coincided with a very difficult period for our country. I'm sure this team came out of this period with honor. Congratulations to Mr. Simidyan on his new appointment. Being well-aware of the personal and professional qualities of our political partner, I am sure that with the same team and various replacements, Mr. Simidyan will set a new benchmark in the most important field of environmental management”.

The newly appointed Minister, in turn, thanked for the trust. "I would like to thank Mr. Petrosyan for leading such a difficult field in a difficult period. The programs that are currently being implemented by the ministry will be continuous, we will try to make the works more effective. I hope that by that we will boost and develop the environment, and the economy in general," Hakob Simidyan said.
