Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the final round of the "RA Prime Minister's Cup" amateur table tennis tournament at the Ara Manukyan Children and Youth Sports School in Charentsavan.

The winners of the final round in different age groups were awarded by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan, the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan. The Prime Minister also awarded the oldest female and male participants.

The Prime Minister welcomed the attendees and congratulated all the participants of the tournament on its successful organization. "I would like to congratulate all the participants of the tournament, the winners, the awardees. I want to express my joy that the idea we talked about months ago is now implemented.

I want to state that these tournaments, which are called the "Prime Minister's Cup", will be continuous. I say this to keep informed the potential participants of the next tournaments. In other words, these are traditional tournaments, they will not last a year, they will be continuous. I hope that as promised by the organizers, the number of participants will increase every year. I want to particularly thank the oldest participants, who show by their example, encourage young people to participate in these tournaments, and promote a healthy lifestyle in the Republic of Armenia," Nikol Pashinyan said.

According to the Prime Minister, these tournaments have important goals because they help to implement the strategic issues identified in the Government’s Action Plan. "We must make efforts to achieve our strategic goals. that is, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the development of sports. It’s true that our tournaments are of an amateur nature, but it is the popularisation of amateur sports that brings success to professional sports.

I want to thank the organizers again and to say that we have two tournaments to be still organized. One is the swimming tournament, which will take place in Lake Sevan in the summer, in July. I want to again draw the attention of potential participants. We seem to be discussing adding one more sport, one more tournament. This refers to the push-up tournament. There will be a duel, there will be tournaments on bar and floor, which will be the fifth of our tournaments.

And if we see that it is successful, and at the moment we see that it is successful, the level of organization in each tournament improves, and it’s not rulled out that we will initiate other tournaments as well, so that non-professional athletes have the opportunity to show off, to enter into competition, to fight, to win, to rejoice.

I want to thank the participants of our final round today, because we really enjoyed our time here, we saw a very consistent desire to win, we saw a persistent struggle, we saw a fair struggle," said the Prime Minister.
