Discussion of performance report 2022 of the Ministry of Territorial Adminsitration and Infrasturcture continued under the leadership of the Prime Minister

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the discussion of performance report 2022 of the Ministry of Territorial Adminsitration and Infrasturcture continued.

First of all, the Prime Minister was informed about the training of management specialists in the field of road construction, the works carried out within the framework of the road safety program. Nikol Pashinyan noted that there is a positive change in quality improvement in the construction and repair of roads, but it is still far from meeting international standards. “The efficiency of the investments should be ensured when carrying out the works", the Prime Minister emphasized, adding that the works in the direction of increasing the quality and introducing the corresponding standards should be consistent and continuous.

Next, a reference was made to the organization of regional passenger transportation, the regulations of the taxi services sector, the steps to be taken in the direction of improving the provided services.

The Prime Minister was reported on the developments taking place in the railway sector, in particular, the works being carried out in the direction of infrastructure improvement. The Prime Minister emphasized the effective implementation of investment programs in accordance with the commitments undertaken by the " South Caucasus Railway" company and noted that it’s necessary to have a long-term strategic vision of railway development.

Then the process of liberalization of the energy sector, the construction process of the Armenia-Georgia converter station and the 3rd Iran-Armenia power transmission line, the Masrik-1 power plant, and the developments in the solar energy sector were touched upon. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the implementation of energy sector development programs and the need for effective implementation of the above-mentioned works aimed at infrastructure improvement. It was also reported that the program of ensuring energy efficiency in residential buildings continues, in particular, it has already been implemented in 57 buildings. According to those in charge, 40-50 percent energy saving was recorded as a result.

Issues related to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, regulations implemented in the field of mining industry were discussed. Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed to be more consistent in all cases of illegal exploitation of mines, to form an interdepartmental working group in order to effectively reveal them.

The Prime Minister was also reported on the process of granting temporary residence status based on work in our country. It was noted that it has been digitized, the administration is carried out through an electronic platform, as a result of which the terms of the process have been significantly shortened and the quality of the provided services has improved. It was reported that the Government is successfully implementing the obligation to provide certificates of apartment purchase to refugees who emigrated from Azerbaijan and are living in temporary housing and will fully complete it in regions in 2023. 270 families have already been provided with certificates of apartment purchase in Yerevan, and 194 families will be allocated in the regions.
