Draft Disaster Risk Management Strategy 2023-2030 discussed at Government

Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a consultation was held in the Government, during which the draft of the Disaster Risk Management Strategy for 2023-2030 and 2023-2026 action plan were discussed.

It was reported that the strategy is focused on disaster risk identification, assessment, capacity building and monitoring, disaster response and post-disaster recovery. It was noted that the draft addresses the problems in the field of disaster risk, and its goals are to form a safe and resilient state, to ensure the implementation of measures aimed at reducing risks, strengthening the safety, improving the technological system, and developing human resources. It is also planned to implement effective awareness raising measures among citizens, to expand the opportunities for implementation of investment programs in the sector, to develop public-private sector cooperation.

An earnest exchange of ideas took place around the draft, various proposals and observations were presented.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the adoption of disaster risk management strategy and the implementation of consistent programs in this direction, including raising awareness among children through various activities. The Prime Minister instructed to submit the draft strategy for the approval of the Government.
