Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited primary schools No. 6 and No. 111 in Yerevan and got acquainted with the reconstruction works.

The new building of Yerevan primary school No. 6 was built by order of the Armenia Territorial Development Fund. Construction began in 2020 and was completed in August 2023. The school was built as part of the seismic safety improvement program with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank. Landscaping and asphalting work were also carried out. The total cost of the work amounted to 1 billion 166.7 million AMD. Currently there are 780 students studying at the school. The school is equipped with the necessary property and technical equipment.

The Prime Minister congratulated those present on the occasion of the opening of the school and noted. "First of all, I want to congratulate all of you on this comeback, because I know that you have all been waiting for a long time, and I am glad for this important event. Why do we attach so much importance to the school, school construction? Because we believe that this is a strategic issue and a strategic plan."

According to Nikol Pashinyan, the future of the country depends on the coming generation, its ideas and views. "Why do we attach so much importance to the standard and quality of school construction? Because we want you all to feel at school like at home. We want you to treat school as you treat home, and conversely, we also want school to treat you as you would be treated by your parents, your grandparents, your siblings. And we consider it very important that the school helps you solve three very important issues that are fundamental for all our educational reforms. We want every student to leave school with a strong mind, strong spirit and strong body. This is very important," said the Prime Minister.

The Head of the Government emphasized the importance of creating favorable conditions for education that meet modern standards and requirements. "But the building, the property, everything else are just inanimate objects. Now you have to give life to that building with your daily attitude."

Turning to the issue of the halls intended for physical education, Nikol Pashinyan noted that they should be built and operate in line with to clear standards for all institutions. gymnasiums, basketball, football fields - each must be of appropriate standards.

The new building of primary school No. 111 in Yerevan was built by the order of the Armenia Territorial Development Fund. Construction began in 2021 and was completed in August 2023. The school was built as part of the Seismic Safety Improvement Project with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank. Improvement, landscaping and asphalt paving works were also carried out. The total cost of the works was 1.5 billion AMD. The school is designed for 432 and the current number of students is 286.

Nikol Pashinyan congratulated those present on the occasion of the new school and noted that the Government's drive to have new schools is somehow linked with the need to have a new way of thinking. “What might new thinking mean? New thinking, I believe, can mean the following. to know ourselves better, to know ourselves anew, to know better what our strengths are, to know better what our weaknesses are, to try to strengthen all the strengths that we have, to try to overcome all the shortcomings that we have. I believe that all problems and their solutions are in thinking: perceiving ourselves, perceiving our environment, perceiving the world, perceiving the times, perceiving opportunities. In this regard, we want a new way of thinking for children and students, which means one thing: the unlimited possibilities of each of you," the Prime Minister said.

According to the Prime Minister, the task of the Government is to make education accessible to everyone. "Why is the government spending those sums? Because we believe that there are people sitting among you now who will determine the future of our country and the world. I want you to take this mission and opportunity of yours very seriously. We want you to fill this hall, this school, this building, the country, your neighborhoods, your streets, our cities with new content, new life, new thinking that will be competitive. This is very important because thinking can also bring problems. Many of our problems come from our thinking and many problems we cannot solve are also because of thinking. It is very important that you take yourself and your education very seriously," said Nikol Pashinyan.
