Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the opening of the GTB Steel steel rebar manufacturing plant in Ararat community. The Prime Minister toured the plant, got acquainted with the investments made and production capacities.

According to the representatives, the plant’s annual productivity is 112,800 tons. An investment of $31 million has been made. The plant has 240 employees, whose number is planned to increase to more than 500 over the next 3 years.

2 induction furnaces with a capacity of 25 tons for the production of electrothermic products, a continuous rolling mill and a rebar production line have been purchased. Scrap and sponge iron serve as raw materials for production. The final products include steel bars, pipes, grinding balls, hot and cold rolled coils.

A 40,000 kVA transformer substation, a 110 kV overhead power line, and a new cell at the Ararat 2 station have been constructed.
