The progress of the “300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens” program was discussed under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan noted that in 2021-2025, construction, renovation and design works of 340 schools have been launched and are in progress, which will serve about 130,000 students. It was emphasized that during 2021-2025, 45 schools were commissioned: 10 renovated and 35 built, which serve about 20,000 students. During this year, it is planned to complete the construction of another 20 schools and the renovation of 70. It was reported that during 2021-2024, 45 schools were built at a cost of about 50 billion drams, and in 2021-2026, 295 schools are under construction or renovation, worth about 328 billion drams.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, 386 kindergartens have either been completed, or are in the construction and tender stages, and will serve 37,000 children. There is already a clear picture of how 500 kindergartens will be put into operation by 2026. Work has already been completed in 204 preschool institutions.

In settlements without preschool services, access will be ensured through educational complexes, and in 162 settlements where educational complexes are not planned, one of the following approaches will be applied: out of 14 settlements without kindergartens and with more than 50 students, the construction of kindergartens has started in 11, and will start in 3 more in the near future; in settlements with up to 50 children, the possibilities of establishing a preschool and forming clusters are being studied; in settlements with up to 10 children, alternative models are being considered.

All the above-mentioned works together amounted to 452 billion drams.

Next, issues related to the process of construction and major renovation of schools and kindergartens were discussed.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan instructed those responsible to pay attention and keep under strict control issues related to the quality of work and compliance with the planned schedule.
