The prestigious international accelerator “Plug and Play” will carry out long-term activities in Armenia

Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The Government adopted a decision, which intends to regulate the process of concluding a long-term contract with the prestigious international accelerator “Plug and Play”. As noted by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the continuity of cooperation is an important condition for the consistent development of the startup ecosystem. According to Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, given that there is already a successful project with the “Plug and Play” organization, the organization is well aware of the Armenian market and startup ecosystem, it is proposed to make cooperation with “Plug and Play” continuous, giving the opportunity to develop the achieved results in the coming years. “Plug and Play” will establish a branch in Armenia and during the 3 years of cooperation the accelerator will implement incubation, pre-acceleration and acceleration programs. The entry and long-term activity of the internationally prestigious accelerator in the country will have a great impact on the development and competitiveness of the startup ecosystem.

Responding, the Prime Minister noted that this shows that one of the world's major players in the field already has a presence in Armenia.

The government made changes and additions to the current housing support program for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. Accordingly, in particular, the list of settlements with a limit of 4 million drams has been expanded, which includes 611 settlements in 57 communities, instead of the previous 452, the 2nd and 3rd stages of the program have been launched simultaneously, from July 1, 2025, that is, the program is open to all target groups, regardless of family composition. The deadline for applying to the program has been set for December 31, 2027, etc.

The government has approved the program for organizing the training of coaches-pedagogues working in children's and youth sports schools of the Republic of Armenia, the goal of which is to ensure the continuity of the practical experience of these specialists under state care. This will allow ensuring development in line with international sports standards, which will be an incentive for rapid integration into international innovative systems. The training program will be implemented with theoretical and practical courses in accordance with the universal standards and programs of training developed by international federations of various sports. The courses will be conducted by highly qualified specialists of the relevant sports invited from abroad. Referring to the program, Nikol Pashinyan noted that it is being implemented taking into account the needs of coaches. According to the Prime Minister, knowledge and skills are a continuous process that must be constantly supplemented in time.

The government adopted a decision to resolve issues that arose during the organization and implementation of the teacher's voluntary certification process. As a result, the voluntary certification process will be implemented in a more regulated, simple and transparent manner. In particular, in the event of re-applying for the upcoming certification organized under the proposed amendment in a different subject and in case of passing the certification, a surcharge will be calculated in accordance with the previous regulations, without establishing a double surcharge.
