A working meeting was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, during which the concept of reforming the penitentiary system of the Ministry of Justice was discussed.

The heads and representatives of the executive, legislative and judicial bodies of the Republic of Armenia participated in the discussion.

Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan presented the priorities and directions for the development of the penitentiary system. In particular, attention was paid to issues related to the development of the capacities of penitentiary institutions, ensuring and developing the working capabilities of employees, expanding resocialization programs, and improving the conditions of detention in penitentiaries.

During the discussion, further work and steps in the outlined directions were clarified.
