The Prime Minister chairs meeting to discuss the Academic City plan

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the Academic City plan was discussed.

Representatives of the Gmp International GmbH Architects and Engineers company, which designed the Academic City master plan, noted that as a result of previous discussions, certain changes were made to the plan, taking into account the submitted proposals and observations. In particular, the changes relate to the location of clusters, green areas, infrastructure, etc. In this context, reference was made to the project's master plan, the maximum realization of the potential of the Academic City area, taking into account the city's future expansion opportunities.

Issues related to the transport hub envisaged by the master plan were discussed. It was noted that all transport communications will be connected in the Academic City.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the development of infrastructure, in particular, on the work planned in the near future in the direction of electricity, water, and gas supply. At the same time, it was emphasized that construction in the Academic City will begin in stages, with the construction of a technological cluster planned to begin first.

Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed to finalize the plan and submit it for approval. The Prime Minister also attached importance to the development of a landscaping project in order to implement the process in stages. Emphasizing that the Academic City project has a strategic priority for the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister gave specific instructions to those responsible for implementing work in a number of directions to finish them on time.
