The program for the reorganization of small schools discussed under the leadership of the Prime Minister

A consultation was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which issues related to the program for the reorganization of small schools were discussed.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan first presented details on the progress of schools being built and renovated, noting that in total, construction and renovation works on 358 schools and educational complexes have been completed or are in various stages of implementation. It was also presented that in ten regions there is a total of 305 km of roads leading to cluster schools, which was renovated under the Government's 2021-2025 program.

Next, the organization of centralized education was addressed, it was presented that from the 2026-2027 academic year, the process of organizing education in a centralized manner in 100 educational institutions for a small number of over 180 school students will begin. In this context, issues related to road infrastructure and transportation organization models were discussed.

As a result of the discussions, a decision was made to adopt a phased approach, according to which the school reorganization program in the first phase should be launched from September 1, 2026 in cluster schools in 8 regions with a well-developed road network, that is, in 30 cluster schools out of 59 schools to be put into operation by September 1, 2026.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this program is being implemented within the framework of strategic reforms and emphasized that this will ensure quality education and the necessary conditions for it for every child. The Prime Minister gave relevant instructions to those responsible for the effective implementation of the program.
