Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The Government adopted a decision due to the need to purchase a program to provide and service continuous blood glucose monitoring systems for patients aged 0-18. Within the framework of the "Healthcare" section of the 2025 state budget of the Republic of Armenia, test strips intended for measuring blood glucose levels were purchased for patients aged 0-18, the number of whom is about 1,100. Taking into account the capabilities of the state budget, the implementation of the program is being implemented in stages, in particular, in accordance with the 2025 budget of the Government. By decision No. 1007-N of July 24, 2018, 181.9 million drams were allocated for 244 most vulnerable groups, patients aged 0-9 years, this decision envisages providing test strips to 756 patients who are beneficiaries of the program, for which 570.9 million drams are needed.
The Prime Minister noted that the decision is of revolutionary significance, as devices of the latest generation will be purchased, which will significantly change the quality of life of hundreds of children.
The Government made a decision aimed at ensuring the implementation of measure 21020 “Medium repair of state roads” of the 2025 state budget of the Republic of Armenia under program 1049 “Improvement of the road network” of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. In order to increase road traffic safety and increase the functional durability of road markings, it is planned to make changes to 6 purchase contracts signed within the framework of the measure, stipulating a requirement to implement horizontal markings with a thermal film with a thickness of more than 1.5 mm.
Referring to the decision, the Prime Minister noted that there is a certain change in the issue of quality, but the issue of road standards should also be in focus. “It is obvious that we have a clear change in the quality of the road network. In general, the issue of standards comes up, and we need to organize the work in such a way that we are sure that we have a mechanism so that our roads do not reach a state where we can start bringing them back to a better state."
During the Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister also published data on new job statistics: "As of September 2025, for the first time in history, the number of registered and paid jobs in Armenia has exceeded 800,000. Historically, we have never had such a number and as of September it amounted to 805,687. I draw our attention to the fact that compared to September of the previous year, the number of registered jobs is more by 37,140 or 4.8 percent. And compared to September of 2018, it is more by 222,912 or 38 percent. Thus, we can record that since 2018, more than 222,000 paid jobs have been created in Armenia."
Speaking about the planned changes in the structure of the economy, the Prime Minister noted: "Fundamental changes will take place in the structure of the economy in the near future, in particular, we now see and must note with satisfaction that Armenia is overcoming the blockade step by step. It has been discussed for two days now that Azerbaijan announced the lifting of export restrictions to Armenia, and I expressed my appreciation for this decision of the Azerbaijani President on the international arena, at the "Silk Road" conference held in Tbilisi, and I welcomed that decision. I want to do the same here, because it is a very important decision. And this shows that the Washington Declaration and the agreements reached are not just a declaration, as some try to present. In other words, they are a declaration, but they have brought concrete results."
The Government approved an investment program that will restore the unfinished part of the Cascade complex, build a qualitatively new and modern concert hall and gallery, in accordance with the "Cascade Cultural Hub" project, a multifunctional complex will be built in the adjacent section, which will be in harmony with the existing and future environment and will complete the urban development image of the given section, a new city park will be built, and Alexander Tamanyan's idea of connecting the two parts of the city will be implemented.
