The Prime Minister participates in “Digital Dialogue: Estonia – Armenia” workshop

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the “Digital Dialogue: Estonia – Armenia” workshop at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.

The event was also attended by the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council Artur Atabekyan, Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan, Tigran Khachatryan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Digital Transformation Adviser at e-Estonia Briefing Centre Petra Holm, representatives of the legislative, executive, judicial authorities, public administration system, and academic institutions of the Republic of Armenia.

Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the participants of the workshop, noted that the development of the digitalization sector in Armenia is among the priorities, spoke about the need to implement revolutionary changes in the digitalization sector in our country, and in this context, emphasized the importance of developing expert potential. Nikol Pashinyan noted that the idea of organizing the workshop arose during his official visit to the Republic of Estonia on April 27-28 of this year, during a visit to the e-Estonia Briefing Center in Tallinn.

The Prime Minister emphasized that having familiarized himself with the activities of the center, the structure of Estonia's digitization and e-government, the implemented and planned programs for digitization, and emphasizing the importance of exchanging experience with Estonia in the field of digitization and implementing joint programs, he instructed the the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia to initiate the visit of Petra Holm, a digital transformation consultant of the e-Estonia Briefing Center, to Armenia. "Therefore, we have gathered today to try to learn from Petra Holm, who, as you know, is considered a world leader in the field of digitization, how digitization works in Estonia, and to try to extract useful information from her presentation," noted Nikol Pashinyan and expressed hope that this workshop will significantly contribute to the effective implementation of Armenia's digitization agenda.

Petra Holm delivered a keynote speech at the workshop, presenting Estonia’s internationally recognized experience in digitalization and e-governance, as well as the work and programs it has implemented.

During the workshop, attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker and receive the answers.
