A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the strategic program for tourism development of the Republic of Armenia for 2026–2030 was discussed.
In particular, the program’s goals, actions and events planned for it were discussed, which will be aimed at the formation of new tourism destinations, the development of outbound and inbound tourism, and targeting new markets. The program envisages implementing consistent steps in the areas of attracting investments, developing infrastructure, ensuring the entry of internationally renowned brands, increasing Armenia’s international attractiveness, and providing quality services. It was noted that the strategic program envisages increasing the number of tourists visiting Armenia annually to 3 million, instead of the 2.2 million recorded in 2024.
The participants of the meeting exchanged ideas on ensuring the effectiveness of the planned events, as well as on the problems of the tourism sector and the possibilities for their solution.
Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the consistent development of the sector and noted that it is necessary to give a new impetus to the already successful events and programs. At the same time, the Prime Minister considered it necessary to actively continue the programs for the restoration of historical and cultural monuments, which can also have a significant impact on the promotion of tourism and the formation of new routes.
Based on the discussion, the Strategic Program for the Development of Tourism of the Republic of Armenia for 2026–2030 will be submitted to the Government for approval.
