The National Security Service is one of the most important cornerstones of our state: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the National Security Service and attended the event dedicated to the Day of the National Security Service Employee.

The Prime Minister made a speech, congratulated those present on the occasion of the Day of the National Security Service Employee, and expressed gratitude for the service in the interest of the Republic of Armenia and the people. “I must state that the National Security Service is one of the most important cornerstones of our state and, in fact, one of the pillars that is of key importance in terms of the security of the Republic of Armenia and the preservation of the constitutional order,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government today adopted the agenda for the sustainability of the state and placed the state, the Republic of Armenia, at the center and axis of all goals and actions. “And it is very important that the state, regardless of the nature and essence of the political authority, has a solid foundation and backing. This is extremely important for ensuring the sustainability and development of our state,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Speaking about the post-2018 economic results, Nikol Pashinyan also highly appreciated the work of the National Security Service in this regard from the point of view of ensuring the security of economic activity. The Prime Minister also emphasized that the logic and agenda of the doctrine of economic and institutional transformation of Armenia, adopted at the Government session today, will be acceptable to both other state bodies and the National Security Service.

The Prime Minister spoke about the development of the analytical capabilities of the National Security Service, emphasizing that in parallel with the development of force capabilities, the development of analytical capabilities is also important as a preventive tool. In this context, the Prime Minister also noted the importance of adopting the right tactics to face the increasing threats in the modern world.

"I would like to congratulate all of you on this day, thank you for the service in general and each serviceman, and also congratulate all of you, your family members, your relatives, your friends on the New Year, Christmas and wish you success in your future service. I would like to express my satisfaction again with the fact that I am now convinced that in all the most difficult situations, the National Security Service has always been in its place, has always been within the scope of its duties, and has addressed all the issues that needed to be addressed. Of course, the situations have been different, they have been complex, and sometimes they even seemed insurmountable, but the fact that we have overcome all these issues is not at all secondary and could not be secondary to the role of the National Security Service," the Prime Minister summed up.

On the occasion of the Day of the National Security Bodies Employee, Nikol Pashinyan awarded the NSS employees with commemorative medals and diplomas.
