Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the “Soldier’s House” Rehabilitation Center on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan.

Yerevan State Medical University Rector Armen Muradyan and the Center Director Haykuhi Minasyan presented the newly opened “Room of Life” social rehabilitation service of the center to the Prime Minister. It was noted that treatment here is combined with the restoration of social and everyday life skills. The boys are taught to live with disabilities: Buttoning clothes, ironing, self-help in the kitchen and bathroom, transferring from a wheelchair to a car, etc., in the presence of a weakened limb. The Prime Minister was also presented with the newly opened “Soldier’s House” cafeteria, where disabled soldiers are fed 3 times a day. Food, like all services provided at the center, is free for disabled veterans.

Civilians can also use the center’s services, but on a paid basis. The goal is to direct the profits received from civilians to solving the problems of disabled soldiers.

The Prime Minister also visited the surgical department of the “Soldier’s House”, which is equipped with the latest equipment. Both disabled soldiers and civilians are operated on here. The profits received from the surgeries of civilians are also directed to solving the problems of the beneficiaries.

It was noted that the center is financed by the state, benefactors and the proceeds from the services provided to civilians by the “Soldier’s House”.

At the end, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in the festive dinner at the “Soldier’s House”. Disabled soldiers and their families sat at the same table with the Prime Minister, communicated and had the opportunity to ask questions that concerned them.

The “Soldier’s House” is a charitable NGO, whose mission is the physical and social rehabilitation of disabled veterans, their full reintegration and improvement of their quality of life. “Soldier’s House” has about 10,000 beneficiaries, all of whom are people who were injured during military service or war, as well as in peacetime, starting from the 90s to the present day. “Soldier’s House” is one of the best examples of public-private cooperation. Both public and private institutions constantly support the smooth operation of the center.
