A meeting was held between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the Vice President of the United States of America James D. Vance, who is in the Republic of Armenia on an official visit.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the US Vice President first welcomed the members of the delegations of the two countries, then Nikol Pashinyan and JD Vance had a private meeting. The discussions continued in expanded formats.
Prime Minister Pashinyan noted in his speech: “Dear Mr. Vice President, I welcome you and your delegation to the Republic of Armenia.
Your visit is truly historic, because you are the first Vice President of the United States and the highest-ranking official of the United States to ever visit the Republic of Armenia. And this, I believe, is not only a ceremonial nuance, but also reflects the developments that have been taking place in the relations between Armenia and the United States in recent years, and especially over the past year. And I want to, as I had the opportunity to tell you today, emphasize my meeting with you at the White House a year ago, which, as time would show, was of great significance for further developments.
I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the United States, Mr. Trump, and to you for organizing the summit in August last year, as a result of which peace is established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. A few days ago, we had a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan in Abu Dhabi, and our impression is that this peace, as one might say, is already very close to the point, if not already crossed, which we can consider irreversible. Now our main task is to implement one of the most important points of the peace process and the Washington Declaration, the TRIPP project, in accordance with the framework that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Secretary of State of the United States adopted on January 14, that is, between the two governments.”
US Vice President JD Vance, in turn, noted: "Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, thank to the delegation gathered here. You have a great team, we resolved all the issues during the bilateral meeting, so the teams do not need to work.
I convey the greetings of our President to your nation, your country. Prime Minister Pashinyan has truly been a partner, and we express our gratitude for the personal friendship and cooperation, partnership. There is much to discuss, our next event, which will take place soon, we will make statements, so as not to repeat. Let me say that this is a very wonderful country, I am very grateful for the personal hospitality, not only to me, but also to my family.
This is one of the oldest Christian nations in the world, and I am very grateful to both you and your administration. I truly believe that you have the opportunity to not only establish a historic, stable, irreversible peace, but now we are at a point where Armenia will become a very serious pillar of economic development in this region, which will also bring prosperity to the people of Armenia, which will also be transferred upon the people of the United States. I am very happy, it is an honor for me to be the first Vice President to visit Armenia.”
The Prime Minister of Armenia and the US Vice President were then presented with the details of the TRIPP project, the Firebird company’s plan to build an artificial intelligence factory and data center in Armenia, as well as the capabilities of the “V-BAT” drone purchased by Armenia from the United States.
