Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The Prime Minister welcomed Ms. Kos’s visit to Armenia and noted that it is a good opportunity to discuss the rich agenda of Armenia-EU cooperation, which continues to expand consistently. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that at today’s meeting he would also like to hear Ms. Kos’s impressions of bilateral processes and discuss all issues of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Armenian Government to continue democratic reforms, strengthen the rule of law and develop institutional capacities.
Marta Kos expressed gratitude for the reception and noted that the EU highly appreciates the reforms implemented by Armenia and the political will shown towards it. She emphasized that the EU will continue to support Armenia in bilateral cooperation, in particular, the reform agenda, Armenian civil society and the media.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the progress of the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda, the opportunities for expanding economic and investment programs, as well as issues related to the visa liberalization process. Regional developments and steps taken towards establishing peace were also touched upon. Marta Kos stressed the EU's full support for the Armenian Government's efforts towards peace.
The parties emphasized the importance of continuous high-level dialogue and the consistency of joint efforts towards deepening cooperation.
