Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

Today, the Government made a decision to launch the construction of a recreation area in the Hrazdan Gorge. The Hrazdan Gorge is one of the most important natural landscape zones of Yerevan, which has ecological, social and urban development significance. The area forms a key part of the city’s natural environment and has the potential for widespread public use. However, currently, the gorge section is underdeveloped and partially in a deplorable state, which does not ensure the full and effective use of the area. At the same time, the current trends in urban development in Yerevan and the increasing demand for an active lifestyle of the population determine the need for the formation of new public green spaces and the revitalization of existing natural environments. The demand for open spaces available for organized recreation, walks, sports and cultural events is growing in the city. In addition, the implementation of the decision will contribute to the development of the city's green infrastructure, in line with the principles of sustainable development and climate adaptation.

Responding, the Prime Minister noted: "In general, we have three major environmental and, so to speak, life-enhancing programs in Yerevan. One of them is to turn the Hrazdan River Gorge into a specially protected recreational zone, the next one is to create a large urban forest-park associated with the Dalma Gardens, and the next one is to create an urban forest-park in Nork Marash, which we already talked about at one of the previous Cabinet meetings, on an area of more than 7 hectares, which has been returned to the state. In essence, we can record that at least we are starting the implementation of the project in the Hrazdan Gorge. It is also important here that this section itself is already living as such."

The Government approved the program for subsidizing interest rates on loans provided to the agri-food sector. The adoption of the decision is conditioned by the need to implement the work in the agri-food sector more efficiently and increase the production volumes of agricultural and processed products by subsidizing interest rates on loans provided to the agri-food sector.

The Government approved the procedure for providing compensation for return air tickets to the Republic of Armenia due to military operations and the security situation in the Middle East. The procedure stipulates that citizens of the Republic of Armenia whose direct or transit flights to the Republic of Armenia have been canceled as a result of military operations in the Middle East and who have purchased new air tickets or made a paid change to air tickets for return to the Republic of Armenia shall be provided by the Government with compensation of up to 250.0 thousand drams for each person.
