Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and inspected the completed and ongoing renovation and improvement works.
The total cost of the program, which began in December 2024, is 973 million 736 thousand drams.
It was noted that the first stage of the memorial complex’s improvement works was completed within the specified time frame, taking into account all the professional requirements for the monument’s renovation.
The central, western and eastern buildings, as well as the pillars of the Temple of Eternity, were overhauled.
A new drainage system was installed, and waterproofing of the foundations of the pillars and the memorial wall was carried out. The previous deteriorated waterproofing layer was cleaned, the deteriorated concrete base frame of the pillars was reinforced and waterproofed with special modern materials.
A new walkway was built along the memorial wall, the green zone of the memorial complex was improved, as well as the irrigation network was overhauled.
The improvement project of the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex was discussed and approved at the meeting of the Scientific-Methodological Council under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and the architectural design team carried out author's supervision throughout the work.
On April 24, the Memorial Complex will be open to all visitors. The museum has been open throughout the renovation work.
